Dear internet
A few days ago my Dad and I went on a walk, and on our way we walked past a large tin. At least, that's what I thought it was. It turns out it was an emergency generator.Today we got a leaflet in the post. There's going to be 12 hours without power tomorrow where I live. my Dad has managed to be out for all 12 of them. What can I do to entertain myself?
Also, how to keep warm!

What to do:
1) Read all of the books that you haven't had the chance to read because you've been too busy working or reading books for your course. I know you said last year there were lots of books you wanted to read but couldn't because you didn't have time to read for pleasure. Now you can!
2) Tidy/clean! Mike will love you even more, even if it's not his house :D
3) Do all those little things that build up and never get done. Photos you want to put up, Christmas presents still sitting on the floor (possibly just me), people you want to phone for a chat etc.
4) Go for a walk. Good exercise, good opportunity to listen to all your favourite MP3s, and gets you out of the house.
As for how to keep warm, just wear all of your clothes at once like we did at V2004 overnight. That should work.
Good luck!

Books and walks! Books can be read under bundles of blankets -- lots of fun. Happy New Year. :)
Sounds like a good time for a nice long nap!
Anna thank you! Loads of suggestions, you are power cut queen! I do have a bag of xmas present still. And a separate lush bag ahem. They're waiting to come back to bham with me tho!
